The fire burns
without much heat sometimes,
sometimes my soul
feels empty

The plow eats into
the earth sometimes,
sometimes your words
prepare me

Masters take the weight
of the mule sometimes,
sometimes my burden
seems light

Sometimes I wish
peace for the world,
right now I just want
rest in myself.

‘Natasha, that’s a nice name.”
“What’s in a name?”
“Geuss you’re right,
it’s all the same.

But if it’s all the same,
to you,
let me jump in your game, too.”
“Oh do!”

“I see life in your eyes,
it’s true,
nobody else will do,
but you.”

“I can tell when you’re
lying, y’know,
and you lied trough your teeth,
just now.”

“Loves not forever,
I fear,
you’re too quick for me,
but I know this one thing;

If this instant
was eternity
I’d cherish you only.”

“Well said, for both you,
and me.”

Jennifer,
your pretty laugh
makes me smile
all while.
Red-brown hair
(seems unfair)
the scent,
I swear,
my heart will tear.
And when I
look in those
dark eyes;
I live,
and yet,
I die.

von Jacques Pinard Brown (Copyright)

o hear, o hear, o earth
o hear, o hear, my story
for one day I will return
from the last star of the morning

it was on a foul and barren plain
my soul was hatched in full distain
of all creatures not my kindred

it was among the fiery stars
of my home world I breathed the air
of hatred, beauty and despair

I grew strong as ages past
and traveled far in search of prey
and so stumbled on your world

I fought with ancients wise and bold
I fought them till their hearts grew cold
and when they died I left your world the worse.

When I returned onto my home
I found it ruined; without a soul
(for calamity my kind befell)

Their souls had gone on to the stars
further from here than far is far
and I sang a song in parting

And so I sing and prune my wings
for one last trip of sweet revenge
and death sings, hear it sing.

O fear, o fear o earth
O fear, o fear my glory
soon I shall return
from the last star of the morning.
